1. Introduction
BlindSense (“BlindSense,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a pre-launch product of Global Crown Digital Corporation, a Saskatchewan-incorporated company (Corp. No. 102197381). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose personal information collected through this marketing website and the BlindSense waitlist.
A more detailed privacy policy will accompany the BlindSense product when it becomes available. This document covers the pre-launch website and waitlist only.
2. Scope
This policy applies to information collected through blindsense.ca and any subdomain we operate, including the waitlist submission form. It does not cover any eventual BlindSense product, which will have its own privacy terms at launch.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide
When you join the waitlist, we collect the information you submit — at minimum, your email address, and optionally any additional context you choose to provide (such as whether you’re joining as a family member or a care professional). We also record that you affirmed the consent checkbox, along with a timestamp.
3.2 Information collected automatically
Our hosting and infrastructure providers may record standard web-server log data when you visit the site. This includes IP address, user-agent string, referring page, and the pages you view. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or social-media pixels on this website.
3.3 Cookies
This website does not use cookies. We do not set first-party cookies, tracking cookies, or advertising cookies.
4. How We Use Information
- To send you updates about BlindSense if you joined the waitlist
- To respond to inquiries you send us
- To operate, secure, and improve this website
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your email with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Legal Basis
Our legal basis for processing your waitlist information is the consent you provide when you check the consent box and submit the form. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your Rights” below).
6. Service Providers
We share the minimum amount of information necessary with a small number of service providers who help us run the site:
- Vercel, Inc. — website hosting and content delivery
- Amazon Web Services, Inc. — cloud storage and transactional email infrastructure
These providers act on our instructions, are contractually bound to protect your information, and may process data in jurisdictions outside Canada. They do not use your information for their own marketing.
7. Retention
We keep waitlist email addresses until you ask us to remove them, or until BlindSense launches and you either become a customer or decline to. Web-server logs are retained for up to ninety (90) days and then deleted or anonymized.
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect information in our custody. Data is encrypted in transit. Access to waitlist data is limited to a small number of authorized people at Global Crown Digital who need it to do their jobs.
No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information, but we work hard to protect it.
9. Your Rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and similar privacy laws, you have rights concerning your personal information, including:
- Access — you may request a copy of what we hold about you
- Correction — you may ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — you may ask us to remove your information
- Withdraw consent — you may withdraw consent for future communications at any time
- Complain — you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 14 below. We will respond within thirty (30) days.
10. Children
BlindSense is intended for adults. This website and waitlist are not directed to children under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside Canada. When your information is processed outside Canada, it remains subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is held, and may be accessible to the authorities of that jurisdiction under local law. Our providers are required by contract to protect your information to standards comparable to those in Canada.
12. Breach Notification
In the event of a confirmed security breach involving personal information collected through this website that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and report to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, in accordance with the PIPEDA breach notification requirements.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
